George Plimpton unknown
Author George Plimpton, who wrote the book
Paper Lion, and who took a few snaps
at QB for Detroit in the 1971
preseason, died on 9/25/2003.
This decal has been seen online,
but it is unconfirmed if
the Lions ever wore it.
This decal, with the initials 'ODY'
and possibly in the colors of the New Orleans
Saints, was seen online alongside other
NFL helmet memorial decals such as
Pat Tillman and Hank Stram,
but it is unknown if it was
ever worn, or who it honors.
