Week 10 Preview - 2022

Week 10 Preview - 2022

Thursday April 21, 2022 - 8:15PM
(5-3) Las Vegas Outlaws at (6-2) San Diego Breakers
Line: SD -3
O/U: 47
Win Pct: SD 56.9%
Things are heating up in the West division, and both Las Vegas and San Diego currently sit within wild card slots. This game could be a factor in seeding down the road. The Breakers have had a great season so far, but stumbled last week in a big divisional matchup in LA. Returning home for their second Thursday night game in a row, they face an Outlaws team on a three game win streak. This game is shaping up to be a lower scoring game in all likelihood, which plays into the game plans of both teams. I expect this one to be close.

Saturday April 23, 2022 - 8:15PM
(3-6) Portland Samurais at (2-7) Baltimore Bluebirds
Line: EVEN
O/U: 47
Win Pct: POR 50.7%
Portland has pulled out a couple of wins in a row now, and a trip to Baltimore could help them keep that going. The Bluebirds won some games early on in the season, but this is still a young team going through some growing pains. Being in the Saturday Night spotlight, maybe that will give the Bluebirds some extra motivation. For the Samurais, they aren’t quite out of things, so they will need to pick up another win here.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 1:00PM
(4-5) Albuquerque Atoms at (3-5) Memphis Demons
Line: MEM -4
O/U: 55
Win Pct: MEM 60.1%
Will this be the week the Atoms finally get back on track? Can Memphis get some kind of win streak started up? Feels like forever since the Atoms won a game and were considered to be somewhat good. The Demons have never found any footing or gotten any momentum after winning a game, but they also haven’t let losing streaks get away from them either.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 1:00PM
(5-3) Carolina Reapers at (6-3) Louisiana Royals
Line: LOU -4.5
O/U: 47
Win Pct: LOU 60.8%
The Reapers got back on the winning track last week with a win in Miami. They face a tough Louisiana team. The Royals lost a close one last week, snapping a five game win streak. The Royals have the better team, but if the Reapers can go off on offense as they have in the past, that will be their best shot at outscoring the Royals to get a win.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 1:00PM
(5-3) Cincinnati Knights at (2-6) Atlanta Flying Fleet
Line: CIN -9
O/U: 46
Win Pct: CIN 73.3%
The Knights have been playing some good football lately, and for the most part, they beat the teams they should beat, and they should beat Atlanta this week. The Flying Fleet are again struggling to find their way in the GSL, and I don't think they’ll find it this week.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 1:00PM
(7-2) Louisville Lightning at (4-5) Jacksonville Captains
Line: LSV -2
O/U: 48.5
Win Pct: LSV 54.4%
The Lightning may still be trying to process just what happened to them last week. Louisville’s loss to the Buffaloes was by far the biggest upset of the GSL season so far, and may be for the remainder of the season. Maybe that embarrassment will wake this team up here in week 10. We know Jacksonville is ready to play. They’ve started moving in the right direction with two straight wins, although, against bad teams. This is a real test for the Captains this week.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 1:00PM
(4-4) Pennsylvania Keystones at (2-6) Chicago Maroons
Line: PEN -3.5
O/U: 49
Win Pct: PEN 58.7%
Yet another North divisional matchup that will have big implications. If the Maroons have any chance at winning this division, they really need to win this game. Having beaten the Keystones once already, having the head to head tiebreaker would be big. The Keystones need to keep their division lead, with Wisconsin nipping at their heels.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 1:00PM
(1-7) Vancouver Bears at (5-3) New York CityHawks
Line: NY -1
O/U: 48
Win Pct: NY 53.4%
Both teams are coming off a bye before week 10. Vancouver is coming off their only win of the season, and they’ll face a New York team with big season aspirations. New York is the better team, and I expect them to play like it on Sunday.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 4:30PM
(8-1) Boston Bobcats at (5-4) Seattle Sockeyes
Line: BOS -0.5
O/U: 44.5
Win Pct: BOS 52.1%
This game may be one of the bigger ones of the weekend. Boston has a further lead in the Eastern Conference after the shocking upset Kansas City pulled off over the Lightning last week. They head to Seattle where the Sockeyes are starting to let their division get a little tighter than they’d want it to be. This would be a statement win for Seattle if they can upset one of the best teams in the league.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 4:30PM
(2-7) Kansas City Buffaloes at (7-2) Arizona Eagles
Line: ARZ -4
O/U: 37.5
Win Pct: ARZ 60.0%
Did Kansas City really win that game last week? Still seems unreal, but if they can beat the Lightning, they have the scary potential to beat anyone, so the Eagles need to stay on top of things, as they’ve lost to inferior opponents already this season. I still expect Arizona to win with ease.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 4:30PM
(2-6) San Antonio Texans at (3-6) Colorado Cabras
Line: COL -3.5
O/U: 50.5
Win Pct: COL 57.8%
Seems I say the same thing each week about the Texans, but they’ve just had an unfortunate season. On the bright side, in situations like theirs, an overall talented team like this can get healthy for next season, and benefit from a good draft pick. Colorado should see this game as a must win at home, and a should win.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 7:00PM
(2-7) Miami Sol at (4-4) Birmingham Owls
Line: MIA -5.5
O/U: 51
Win Pct: MIA 63.1%
The Owls are starting to pull themselves together, and look like a decent team. They can get above .500 for the first time since week 1 of the season with a win this week, but it won’t be easy. Miami has played tough throughout the season, but they just haven’t been able to pull out wins a lot of the time, but that could happen at any moment. The Owls should not just look at Miami’s record and assume they are the better team.

Sunday April 24, 2022 - 8:15PM
(7-1) St. Louis Brewers at (5-3) Dallas Regulators
Line: STL -7.5
O/U: 39.5
Win Pct: STL 70.3%
This should shape up to be a good defensive battle, and that’s what can keep Dallas in this game. It’s no secret that the Brewers are one of the top teams in the league, as they show week in and week out with their tremendous defense. Dallas has been a little more sneaky in how well they’ve played throughout the year, and they’ve got a shot in this one if their offense can find the endzone, which is not going to be an easy task.

Monday April 25, 2022 - 8:15PM
(4-4) Washington Stars at (4-4) Oakland Icons
Line: OAK -5.5
O/U: 42.5
Win Pct: OAK 64.3%
Both Washington and Oakland are coming off bye weeks, and should be fresh heading into Monday night. At 4-4, both teams have kept themselves alive throughout the year, but Oakland is in the more favorable position by being in a mediocre division. Depending on what happens in Seattle on Sunday, the Icons could find themselves in first place in the Pacific division with a win Monday night. Washington lost in a bad way two weeks ago, and hopefully they’ve moved on, because they need to be focused this week.

On Bye: (8-1) Los Angeles Express, (4-5) Salt Lake Trappers, (3-6) Toronto Terror, (4-5) Wisconsin Stags
