Week 17 Preview - 2022

Week 17 Preview - 2022

Thursday June 9, 2022 - 8:15PM
(4-11) Kansas City Buffaloes at (10-5) San Diego Breakers
Line: SD -11
O/U: 47
Win Pct: SD 74.6%
With the Breakers finding themselves in a three way tie for the West division lead, they have found themselves going up against an opponent they should beat. This is a great opportunity for the Breakers to pick up another win, and keep pace with the rest of the division.

Saturday June 11, 2022 - 8:15PM
(9-6) Dallas Regulators at (10-5) Arizona Eagles
Line: ARZ -2.5
O/U: 39.5
Win Pct: ARZ 57.1%
This is going to be a huge game that could decide the fate of the South division. An Arizona win would clinch the division for the Eagles. A Dallas win would even up the head to head to head matchup between these two teams, and give each an even record with just two weeks remaining, making for an exciting finish to this division race. Also on the minds of the losing team would be the wild card race. The Western Conference has a very competitive playoff race, and the loser of this game will find themselves in the thick of it, Dallas in particular. This could be an epic Saturday night battle.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 1:00PM
(7-8) Albuquerque Atoms at (4-11) San Antonio Texans
Line: ABQ -4
O/U: 52
Win Pct: ABQ 59.3%
The Atoms playoff window is closing, and with the stiff competition they have, they cannot afford to lose this game, which is winnable.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 1:00PM
(9-6) Carolina Reapers at (6-9) Jacksonville Captains
Line: CAR -6
O/U: 46
Win Pct: CAR 65.9%
The Reapers can put the final nail in the Atlantic division with a win in Jacksonville on Sunday. Carolina may be thinking about playoff seeding at this point, and any win would be good for that, as they are going to end up with either the 2 or 3 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, which could be the difference between 1 or 2 home games, if the Reapers can find success come postseason. The Captains season can remain alive with a win, as the wild card race has come to them, with Cincinnati falling apart at the end of the season.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 1:00PM
(11-4) Louisiana Royals at (7-8) Chicago Maroons
Line: LOU -8
O/U: 48
Win Pct: LOU 69.9%
The Royals need to continue their winning ways to keep up with the Lightning in the Central division. They face a Chicago team that’s right in the thick of the North division title race, after they pulled off a huge upset of the Outlaws last weekend. This Maroons team has some fight in them, and the Royals will need to take that seriously. If the Royals defense plays the way they did last week, then they should have no problem shutting down the Maroons.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 1:00PM
(3-12) Miami Sol at (6-9) Atlanta Flying Fleet
Line: MIA -4
O/U: 48
Win Pct: MIA 59.2%
Atlanta did well trying to mount a comeback on their season, but it seems it just isn’t going to be enough. With this divisional game, Miami will be playing hard for some pride, as their season ended a long time ago. Bragging rights are still a good thing to play for this time of year.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 1:00PM
(11-4) New York CityHawks at (6-9) Washington Stars
Line: NY -4
O/U: 48
Win Pct: NY 60.6%
New York remains in the fight for the top wild card spot, which means facing a team from the weak North division (although, that division has seen its teams playing hard for a playoff push recently). Washington is an odd opponent, as they look terrible in all the games they lose, then they somehow pull out a win here or there, but not in an impressive fashion. The Stars can still make a play for the final wild card spot, as they sit just a game back. This game still looks like it should be a CityHawks win.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 1:00PM
(6-9) Pennsylvania Keystones at (7-8) Cincinnati Knights
Line: CIN -4
O/U: 45.5
Win Pct: 59.9%
After a three game losing streak, the Knights are finding themselves in a three way tie for the last wild card spot with two teams from the north division, with plenty of teams just a game behind, which is something no one would have seen coming three weeks ago. This presents a big opportunity for the Keystones, who are not only in play for the division race, but with a win, pull themselves ahead of the Knights in the wild card race.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 1:00PM
(7-8) Toronto Terror at (11-4) Louisville Lightning
Line: LSV -1.5
O/U: 51.5
Win Pct: LSV 53.8%
Another big game for both of these teams. The Terror are sitting in a tie on top of their division, but also in a tie for the last wild card spot. A win would be huge for them. On the other side, the Lightning also need a win to keep on top of the Central division, of which they are tied with the Royals still. Any win would be big for either team at this point, and any loss could potentially be disastrous.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 4:30PM
(10-5) Las Vegas Outlaws at (5-10) Colorado Cabras
Line: LV -1
O/U: 44
Win Pct: LV 51.0%
Tough loss for the Outlaws last week, when a win would have put them back on top of the division. The loss also put the Breakers in play for the division title, and more competition is never going to be a good thing. This is a winnable game for Las Vegas, and they’re going to need it to finish the season strong.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 4:30PM
(9-6) Oakland Icons at (3-12) Vancouver Bears
Line: OAK -3
O/U: 40.5
Win Pct: 57.7%
With the Pacific division wrapped up, the Icons are fighting for seeding. With the tight races in the South and West divisions, the Icons could see themselves in the 2 seed at the end of the season if they keep stacking wins. With a winnable game ahead of them, Oakland needs to keep their momentum going.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 4:30PM
(5-10) Portland Samurais at (5-10) Seattle Sockeyes
Line: SEA -3.5
O/U: 44.5
Win Pct: SEA 59.1%
Disappointing season for both of these teams, especially for Seattle, who at one point were on top of the division at 4-2, and have since gone 1-8, including a current 7 game losing streak. This division matchup is going to be a pride game for either team. I wouldn’t trust the betting lines here, as Portland has been playing tougher as of late, and as really been in many of the games they’ve played in this season, just falling short in many of them.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 4:30PM
(8-7) Salt Lake Trappers at (8-7) Memphis Demons
Line: SL -0.5
O/U: 51.5
Win Pct: SL 51.0%
Memphis has climbed their way right into the wild card race in the Western Conference, and Salt Lake is about to find themselves in a battle. This game will mean a head to head tie breaker, and basically eliminate the loser of this one. Memphis has a game against Dallas next week, which will mean a lot more if they can get a win this weekend. With the loser just about out of the playoffs, this game will have a playoff atmosphere to it, and should be a fun one to follow.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 4:30PM
(14-1) St. Louis Brewers at (10-5) Los Angeles Express
Line: LA -1
O/U: 45.5
Win Pct: LA 53.2%
With the top seed locked up, it will be interesting to see how the Brewers handle these last three games of the season. The next meaningful game for St. Louis is nearly a month away, so do they keep their players on the field, or start resting now? The Express, locked in a three way tie at the top of their division, are hoping the Brewers play at less than their best, because they really need a win in this one, or rather, can’t afford to lose.

Sunday June 12, 2022 - 8:15PM
(6-9) Birmingham Owls at (6-9) Wisconsin Stags
Line: WIS -6
O/U: 46.5
Win Pct: WIS 63.2%
The Sunday night matchup is essentially a playoff game, as the loser can pretty much count themselves out of the playoffs. With the current 7th seed sitting just a game ahead of these two teams, a win means keeping pace in that race, while for the Stags, a win keeps them in the North division race as well. This is yet another game with big playoff implications this weekend that should be a fun one to watch.

Monday June 12, 2022 - 8:15PM
(14-1) Boston Bobcats at (3-12) Baltimore Bluebirds
Line: BOS -7.5
O/U: 45.5
Win Pct: BOS 68.8%
With all the good games this weekend, this isn’t one of them. The Bobcats still need a win to lock up the top seed in the Eastern Conference, and they should be able to do that against one of the worst, if not the worst team in the league.
